I have missed you all! While I was away I received a Sunshine Award from Clar so thank you Clar. I’m giving it to everyone in my sidebar, so help yourselves, you all deserve it!
- March Break was filled with playdates, soccer, fishing, ice skating, swimming, The Lorax, a sleepover, two birthday parties, dinners with friends and the craziest of all:
courtesy of the talented Ed Ecaria. What a busy time he’s had putting this together. Poets have been pitted against each other and voters are voting for their favorite poems. Check it out on Ed’s blog and on Twitter #MMPoetry. The poems are wonderful!
- I finished critiquing my friend Julie Brough’s wonderful Fantasy MG about a phoenix (@belledechocolat on Twitter) and I am so excited for her to get it published, what a wonderful story and quite the page turner.
- I read Mei Ling discovers Jack Miner by a local author, Jane Buttery, who I met recently at my house. She is a lovely lady and has a vast historical knowledge of this area. The book is a great read for Middle Graders or to read to your children. Jack Miner’s is just down the road from me. Jane also has a book about the war, so I look forward to reading that too. And of course, I look forward to the next coffee afternoon!
- Other awesome reads this week are Tending to Grace by Kimberley Newton Fusco and Sparrow Road by Sheila O’Connor. Both fantastic page turners.
- The Metaphor game is moving to Mondays, (Metaphor Monday!
) keeping Wednesdays free for occasional posts about fun announcements and guest posts and any competitions/events worthy of note. - I have lots of picture books edited so I look forward to feedback on those and I wish you all a fun, productive week. What have you all been up to? Any leprechaun antics?

I’ve been up to all kinds of shenanigans! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Awesome photo!
What a fun week! Last week was filled with plans and lots of changes. So it was full! This week, I anticipate the same. Love your little Leprechaun! And, congrats on the award.
The weather played a trick on us…our shamrock hunt had to move indoors because of rain, snow and wind. Ha, ha.
Yay you. I missed you! Congrads on the award. Love those leprechaun antics and your little leprechaun is sweet!!!!!! Going today or tomorrow to see The Lorax.
Love the photo–and congrats on your award. Happy to have you back
Shenanigans, shamrock hunts and The Lorax, sounds great! So nice to be back
We missed you, but glad you had such a fun week! I didn’t enjoy the Lorax, I’m afraid. But did enjoy some guinness on St Paddy’s day!
I’m sorry you didn’t like the Lorax Joanna, maybe you should have had the guinness first lol. You are very good drinking that, I couldn’t drink guiness if you paid me
Thanks Mike, so glad you found my neck of the woods! That hat is awesome, way better than my green cupcakes lol.
Congrats on the award! And that giant green hat in the photo is very awesome
Welcome back!
Congatulations on the award! Sounds like a great week. Love the photo. You got a lot accomplished. Hope you review your friend’s books once it’s publsihed. Didn’t realize you critiqued books! Doesn’t surpise me!
Thank Pat, me and Julie are quite recent beta readers for each others’ stories. Though mine is a lot shorter and rubbish lol.
Sounds like you had fun! Glad you’re back
I’d thought I’ve had a busy March so far but I think you’ve beat me!
Sorry. No Leprechaun antics.
I’m glad you had a fun time! How was the “The Lorax” movie? I want to see it! (in other words – you’re lucky!!!)
Erik
Erik you would love The Lorax, you have to go see it!
Hi Susanna and Hannah, cool that rhymes
Congrats on the award! Sounds like a busy week. I’m glad I had to build furniture only.
Building furniture, that’s very handy.
Congrats on the award. Sounds like a great and busy week. We are locked inside with the pollen count over 9000 and and asthmatic child.
Three boys + inside = insanity.
Ooh I bet. Good luck and hope the pollen count drops soon or the word count will.
Sounds like a busy and fun-filled break! Glad to have you back, though! We didn’t manage to see The Lorax yet, but over our February break we saw Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, and all loved it.
