What shall I use in place of shoes?
I left them in Dundee.
I did not notice until now,
cause I can’t really see.
So when I go and fetch them,
I’ll saunter into town
and buy a pair of glasses
for this shoeless stumbling clown.
And excitement from the bunker! I received Call of the Cadron by our lovely Freeda Baker Nichols at the very same time as The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. It was hard to read the other one first but wow, I ended up reading all afternoon.
Like that wasn’t exciting enough I ordered And The Crowd Goes Wild too – It’s out on Amazon everyone! Here’s some more places where it’s out.

Love this, Catherine. I could read all day as well.
Thanks, Vivian
You’re a breath of fresh air Catherine.Hugs
That’s really sweet of you, David. I often think we should all be like wallflowers and face the sun as much as possible.
Hey Catherine, I must confess that I am that clown! (And missing shoes is only the beginning.) Always fun to stop in over here and catch a clever ditty
Well, Barbara I definitely got inspired by myself
And Missing shoes is only the beginning sounds like a great title for a sequel. Thanks so much Barbara!
Great poem!
Cheers, Erik. Have a great day!
Reading all afternoon sounds great! And yea! for The Crowd Goes Wild!! I looked at the bio page!!! What a line up of authors! Congrats….keep basking!
I know Penny, I am astounded how I managed to be in such company
Cute poem! I can’t wait to read The Raven Boys. I love Maggie.
I’ll let you know what it’s like, I’ve read a chapter, it’s interesting!
Cute poem. I am a little embarrassed to admit that I am reading Rebecca for the very first time. I really like the photo in your header!
Hi Margaret, I may have partially read Rebecca but I honestly don’t remember much. You’ll have to review it, then maybe I ought to read it too
Thanks for calling by.
I can’t find an ebook on US amazon store. I’ll keep an eye out.
Stacy, click on ‘here’ in my post. There’s loads of places selling it as an ebook. Cheers!
Why is that small child staring dejectedly at the ground?? She should be up and dancing with that delightful polar bear!
Fun, fun, fun!
Yes I know, Cathy but I’m glad she’s not looking this way. I’d hate to have some random kid on here, I’d feel really bad.
[...] Yet another new contributor to Poetry Friday is Catherine Johnson, who has filled her bowl with cotton candy and her delightful shoeless poem “Dundeed!” [...]
I haven’t read any of Maggie Stiefvater’s novels yet.
I’ve got lots, maybe I should do a giveaway but not Linger. I couldn’t part with it.
Cute poem, Catherine! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Matt!
Adorable poem, Catherine!
Thank you very much, Iza
Ha – really fun
When I saw the title on the PF roundup my first thought was Scotland but I realise now ther must be a Dundee in Canada too…
Marjorie I did mean Scotland. I went to Scotland in the summer to watch my sister in a quadrathlon. There may be one in Canada too for all I know. Thanks!
Heh, you are silly. Very fun, Catherine!
Love the poem title! Thanks for sharing and for the links to The Crowd Goes Wild. :0)
Cheers Renee and Robyn. Let sillyness prevail!
Ha! :>)
And I’m reading The Watch That Ends the Night–amazing novel in verse about the Titanic. Having a hard time putting it down to get other stuff done!
I haven’t heard of that, Laura. I’d love to read another novel in verse. There don’t seem to be any happy ones but at least you know what’s coming with titanic.
This is funny!
