Inspired by Freeda’s lovely poem using the Lil-Ann pattern.
Behold the giant furry polar bear
off diving, stretching, playing without a care.
He batted plastic box and used his teeth
oblivious to all the prying eyes
with flashing cameras, oohs and awhs beneath.
When we go home I wonder if he flies;
off diving, stretching, playing without a care.
Behold the giant furry polar bear.

And here is a much better one by the lovely Cathy Ballou Mealey.

Love it! I wonder too!
You’re quick Susie
It was so lovely to see it captive yet free. Looked after yet independent.
Bravo! You did great with the Lil-Ann form and the polar bear subject. Wonderful with the photo. So glad it worked so well.
Thanks Freeda. I love how you can change the meaning of the repeated lines. It makes me want to try another.
Thanks for introducing me to the Lil-Ann pattern with your cute polar bear poem. I learn lots from your posts!!!!
Gosh, really? I’m behind on trying J. Patrick Lewis’s forms on David Harrison’s blog so I’ll show you all that one next. Well not next, I have a Halloween special coming up
I haven’t heard of the Lil-Ann pattern before, so thanks for showing us how it works. Polar bears always look so lovable and cuddly, don’t they? Though I guess technically they have very large claws
You never see swimming with polar bears on offer, not quite as friendly as dolphins lol.
Add me to the list of learners that you’ve educated today Catherine! I have Lil-Love.
And knope, except for knut who was cute, most adult polar bears are knot as friendly!
Great, Cathy! A modicum of entertainment is all I usually provide lol.
Love it.
And you poem got me to thinking: Maybe we can replace the melting icebergs with a plastic box polar bear habitat. I think I just prevented an extinction!
That’s a super idea, Mike! You’re in charge of organising it. I’ll provide the boxes lol.
I’m not familiar with the Lil Ann pattern, but I did enjoy the poem.
I marvel at how you’re able to write so many poems so quickly!
Teresa, You wouldn’t believe how crazy it was from line one to the finish of this poem. We got spontaneously invited out so I had to prepare some food, my husband cut his finger so I had to bandage him up and a neighbour called me over to give the kids some things, since they are moving. I actually finished it in the car on the way to my friend’s house. A crazy hour or what?
Great poem!
Cheers Erik!
Great poem. Makes me wish for polar bears. Maybe I should take the kids to the zoo tomorrow.
Oh do, I’d go again tomorrow. I love zoos. The kids burn off energy it’s so easy parenting them at a zoo
This is so sweet… and he looks like he is smiling too.
I love this poem , it is fantastic. I wish to have polar bears
They are so beautiful to look at, Lasya. Thanks for calling by.
