Downton Abbey – Acrostic

downton

Downton Abbey seems to be taking the world by storm and I am a bit late to the party but I love it! Blogging buddy Jama wrote a great post about Downton Abbey baking. Check it out here.

Here’s a double acrostic poem about it, written in five minutes with a child on my lap on my phone. That’s my excuse for you lot always writing better ones than me ;) Do have a go at an acrostic. Pick a subject you love, it really helps to keep the words coming.

Any Downton Abbey fans out there?

    Love your acrostic. :-)

  4. I’m a big Downton fan. The attention to detail on the costumes and the set is amazing. A double acrostic, with a kid on your lap no less, is impressive!

    • I read in Jama’s post they spend a fortune making it as realistic as possible. You’d think I’d write more when they’re in school. Hmm.. What did I do? I wrote a first draft of a pb and read to playgroup for literacy week.

  5. I am addicted to Downton Abbey late to the game as well. Thanks for introducing these new-to-me poetry forms. So fun to read your poems!

  6. I can’t believe you did that with a child in your lap! You are amazing, I watched the first season, but couldn’t watch after she lost the baby. Felt a little too close to home perhaps as I was holding my own new babes at the time.

  7. Love your acrostic, Catherine! I’m BRAND NEW to Downton Abbey, too, It only took a couple of episodes to find myself hooked on every detail. It’s such a thrill to brew a cup, butter a scone, and claim the telly for this delicious show!

  8. I LOOOVE Downton Abbey. LOVE it. The dowager is my absolute fave. She reminds me of my great-grandmother. Haha. I wish the seasons were longer!

  9. Big Downton fan here too.

  10. I’m and avid follower. Love it! Fun poem.

  11. What’s Downtown Abbey?…
PS I love how you organized your poem to have the letters at the end! That must have been hard!

  12. Wow…a very creative poem…Cheers~ :D

  13. Loved the poem Catherine – miles better than the drivel that Downton serves up!

  14. A double acrostic! I had never heard of that. Nice job!
