Oh this is one of my faves!!! Really great, Catherine!
Thanks, Penny. It’s all in the last line, which I can’t normally do.
A very sweet one Catherine. xx Hugs
I just love polar bears right now. Take care!
Like this contrast, and love polar bears!
I remembered feeling a sample of the outside and the inside at the zoo. The difference was amazing.
Ooh, good one, Catherine – love the comparison. And such a cute photo
I must have the furry equivalent of chocolate cakes on your blog lol.
The haiku goddess rides again.
How can one feel the inside?
Jeanne
I’m not that good lol. There was some polar bear skin that you could feel at the zoo. I didn’t get that close to a real one. Then my poems would be a bit darker lol.
Lovely! It’s a day for wintry things, that’s for sure!
Yes! How odd I did the camel one at this time of year. I got some facts on interesting animals from a book in the library for my zoo collection.
The cutest wild fur babies, ever, Catherine!
The poem suits their photo. Nicely done!
Thank you!
Oh wow, how awesome
I’m a sucker for haiku
And polar bears rock
I didn’t know that. Are you going to put some in your book?
Sadly, no. My haiku always come from a goofy, whimsical place that don’t fit my vision of “dark and serious fiction,” which is what I’d like associated with my name, for the most part. I’d like to release some goofy, whimsical stuff someday, but what I’d probably do is use a pen name for it so I can keep the two brands separate and hopefully not confuse anyone.
That’s quite a ways off, though. First I’d need to actually release something
I know the feeling!
Aww. Just aww!
:0)
I see a book of haikus under the same title – keep it up Catherine!
Ooh that’s a good idea, Julie. I’ll think of more opposites :0)
That’s a cute picture!
You’re great Ms. Johnson!
You’re a great Haiku maker!
— What’s a good last line???
Awh thanks Erik. A good last line is either different words that portray the essence of the poem (like you did) or a normal sentence with a metaphor in. In my humble opinion
Oh. I didn’t mean it like that… I meant that I couldn’t think up a last line… But thanks for that description!
Sweet, perfect pairing!
